Gemma Orobitg Canal

Gemma Orobitg Canal is a doctor in Anthropology and Ethnology at the EHESS (1996). She is a tenured lecturer in the Social Anthropology Department at the University of Barcelona and coordinator of the Indigenous and Afro-American Cultures Study Group (CINAF). Since 1989 she has undertaken research in Venezuela among the Pumé indigenous people of the Apure Plains on the subjects of dreams, myth, ritual and their central place in social and political processes and the construction of memory. Principal investigator (PI) of the Indigenous Media project.
