The main objective of this proposal is to strengthen the integration and high quality contribution of researchers from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Universidade de Sao Paulo and Universidad de Buenos Aires to the long-term project MEDIOS INDÍGENAS, coordinated by the researchers of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Universitat de Barcelona. This project investigates the role of indigenous media communication (radio, TV, video, and «social networks») in the conservation and promotion of indigenous cultural heritage. It has an American continental scale based on ethnographic fieldwork and the comparison of cases from different areas, vand is aimed at enhancing participatory and collaborative approaches for indigenous peoples.
